15:17 This afternoon, in the past 45 minutes, put selling has been very active on Semiconductors Holders Trust (SMH). The issue is down $1.45 to $26.45. August $65, $60, $55, $50, $47.5 and $45 puts are very active. The trader(s) sold 3,000 contracts of each strike. Prices ranged from $38 to $18. Someone is expecting a turnaround for the SOX Index.

I checked out the option quotes on pcquote.com and the statement was true.

The Nov 02 and Jan 03 high strike price options also had large volume today.
Anybody care to figure why someone would be trading options at those prices? If someone was selling these puts, they expect the SMH to really move up in price.

Regards

Rajiv
