Loius, Thanks for all your input and help. I thought I was a network mensch but this week makes me feel like a virgin (touched by broadband for the very first time). The machine that reads the other machine: 192.168.1.100 the dynamic, sub 255.255.255.0, default 192.168.1.1 The win2K machine, that cant read the other machine: 192.168.1.101 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.1. Everything looks kosher to me. Heres the unit: linksys.com I saw nothing about NAT. I'm familiar with it after using WinGate (ICS software) for a few years. Alan
