I'm not involved in web design, but if I'm not mistaken Macromedia isn't profitable, while Adobe is. I also don't know what percentage of Adobe's sales come from web design. Wrt Quark, I've never bought their products, but from talking with people who do, that company seems not to be particularly customer friendly. Also, I'm not aware of any price cutting at Adobe, (to beat down Quark...take market share based on price rather than product value) and I've not heard of any layoffs. Where in Missouri are you? I grew up in the state, went to MU for journalism. I'm in California...and I do miss the streams and lakes.
