Today's news, from the stand of the small cap biotech investor, is nearly perfect.
The sales team doesn't get fired. One can look at it as Aventis paid a buck and change for shares, or as VPHM got to, in effect, lay off the sales staff at little expense and that Aventis paid $6.70/share.
Today's news is great. Let's see if the note holders can make their case in court.
Nope, afraid I'll keep the "buy" sentiment. It's the leveraged thing to do, IMO.
The buy back doesn't need to be executed, but perhaps it's ongoing at the moment.
High drama. Re: What is the real story behind Picovi by: rickh48 (52/M) 08/01/02 01:12 pm Msg: 21397 of 21401 >> Will we ever know the truth? Was there a huge leak of the phase 3 results? <<
IMO, Perseus Soros bailed for the same reason I did, after 50406 failed in the clinic.
They bailed even later than I did. And investors had plenty of time to bail before the advisory committee meeting, as the company clearly indicated that one of two pivotal trials failed to meet endpoint, intent to treat.
My bail, reasons clearly given, are documented at SI. Biotech commentary at SI is widely followed. It was easy for the experienced biotech investor to decide to take the money and run. Perseus Soros has a horde of well-informed advisors, and I was surprised to see them hang in as long as they did. I was expecting to compete with them, trying to get out the door.
There are very rational explanations for their exit.
Company founders had a passion, pleconaril. It didn't work, but they fought like crazy for it. Beyond all rationale, in my opinion, they fought for it. As a result, their efforts were considered with respect by FDA, if not by the advisory committee.
We'll see what additional claims that have been made in this thread, re. the timing of knowledge and disclosure of drug interation issues, will play in court. It's going to be ugly. |
