June balance sheet doesn't reflect getting rid of CIT, but you may have seen a sheet from after the spin off.


CITs Numbers.
Market cap 4.5B   
Price/Book  .41     4.5/.41 = $10.9B equity.
Debt/Equity 3       $10.9 * 3 = $33M Debt.


That's ~ what CIT carried away with them.
