I have a registry which backed up to a file over 15 meg in size. I have QuickView Plus which translated the file into 7,049 pages of text (in a 7-bit text format)! I don't know how the registry affects performance. I know my system is not as speedy as it was.

My system has the WinMe OS on a dell XPS B1000 with 12 gig filled on a 55 gig drive.

I downloaded the regclean program through the link posted recently, but I only recognize a few of the programs available for deletion that I know I don't use. I don't think this is going to help reduce this registry much at all. I am a bit leery of using the program as aggressively as I'd like due to my unfamiliarity with the registry.

Is a full backup and reformatting my best option?

Thanks.

Stan
