Hey Jim:
Don't stop or slow the pace of your posts, I read you each and every day. As for warning friends and relatives.... that is a tough one. At least when things get worse you will have the comfort of knowing that you alerted them. However, we certainly can't force people to take action based on what we believe is coming. Many people just don't want to hear it.

Though, I believe that there are an increasing number of people who do see bad times coming. Was talking to a real estate broker (selling my 2nd and last piece of real property) on Wednesday and told him I didn't want to own anything for the next three years. He agreed, and said that there should be some great deals around by then.

I sold my waterfront home a few months ago and recently sold my boat. When I called my insurance agent to make the necessary changes in my policy. He said "looks like your liquidating." As the discussion progressed it was evident that he too agreed.

I was reading something on SI yesterday that opined that smart money actually wants to see more economic problems.
While I can't say I am smart money I am indeed looking forward to being able to make investments at much lower levels in future years.

I choose to make short term sacrifices for long term gains.
Of course if I'm wrong I'll be living in a van down by the river.
