I remember as a kid in northern Wisconsin, a tornado went through part of the then Menominee Indian Reservation (now Menominee county) about 10-15 miles south of where I was staying. We went down to see what the damage was like. Came upon the path of the tornado. It looked like a giant lawn mower about 100 yds wide had just meandered off on it's own and shaved a winding path thru the forest down to ground level. Awesome sight for 8-10 year old kids.

ps. The first earthquake I felt was in Burlington Iowa in 1943 or 44. And the second was in So. Illinois in 1969. I was ready for California long before I actually got there.
