for a left/liberal media that simply refuses to expose government disinformation, fraud, and widespread criminal activity? The public would realize there's at least as much criminal activity throughout the government as there is in the corporate sphere.

Larry Elder recently issued a well documented research study exposing the shockingly high level of criminal activity by individual congressmen and senators that is actually on police blotters, all over the country.

In that context, it's not surprising that Rep Gary Condit received so little criticism from his peers in the US Congress.

I'll bet a random sample of 500 used car salesmen would present a better group character profile.
