If you are belittling those that have served in the National Guard, then you are a worse asshole than I thought. As a young boy, I knew some of the very few survivors of the 36th Infantry Division that hit the beaches of Anzio, and Salerno. Of a full company size unit of weekend warriors from Caldwell, Texas, only 6 lived to tell their story. The same can be said of many National Guard units that have been called to active duty in every war, police action, or peace keeping forces, who had to leave their homes, and families, to go and serve the United States.
