Ibbex: Read with interest your ideas about shorting LEAPS calls against the box. Since I was not familiar with the term, and although I have both LEAPS and short term calls, as well as stock of course, I called a broker at Schwab who called their options people and after a long delay they said that was not something they could do. I asked what the term meant, and she said something about a strategy for taxes - in any event, I did not follow the explanation and decided not to pursue it further as I thought the broker did not have a clue. So...could you educate me further in some detail and perhaps everyone reading this could benefit. Otherwise, perhaps you could refer me to some other written material. I am particularly interested in this at this point in time as I suspect there will be a correctiion soon and would like to consider some preventive maintenance. On the other hand, I have taken most of my other holdings off the table, except for my Intel, and I am confident that it will recover from any correction in the near term.
