wj, Thanks for the link. Very interesting brightness race going on. I listened to the EMKR cc and am glad I did but it brought up one question I could use some help with. EMKR does not directly complete with the LED players rather they sell them fabrication systems, and for EMKR the Large Area GAN sales are helping to keep them alive as they are taking the "lions share" of this market. Their sole entry into the LED race is their partnership in Gelcore. In the cc is was stated that Gelcore has a " program for one major North American Auto producer for ALL models for years 04-08".

Can anyone help put some $$ on what these type of contracts could be worth/yr? Is it likely to be a single source deal? Thanks in advance for any help on this.

And the thought question. GE has their stake in Gelcore, and they own 2.5 million CREE shares. They are helping to stabilize the market by being among the first to sign their financial statement and says they will grow via acquisition. If they have a big three auto win and they need a lot of capacity will they build their own or buy it from CREE? Any thoughts out there?
