ConSyGen Automated Conversion of 1.4 Million Lines for Millennium Enterprises Test Successfully on Hewlett Packard 3000 System
PHOENIX, July 17 /PRNewswire/ -- ConSyGen, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CSGI)) today announced the successful completion and testing of a 1.4 million line conversion on a Hewlett Packard 3000 system, with the actual automated conversion taking less than one day. ConSyGen now estimates that it can convert two million lines of code per day with its present capacity, which is being expanded by adding additional hardware.
Project testing was conducted by Millennium Enterprises, Inc. (MEI) of Columbus, Ohio on behalf of its client. MEI's President, Pat Kemmer stated, ``The ConSyGen Toolset cataloged the code into a database, analyzed the code, provided us with a variety of reports, gave us the opportunity to address each date occurrence, and allowed us to set the rules for final conversion. Once established, the ConSyGen 2000 toolset automatically did the rest.'' Kemmer continued, ``Once the cataloging was completed and the rules established, the conversion itself took only a matter of hours.''
The project consisted of nearly 4,000 original source code modules totaling over one million lines of uncompiled COBOL code. Once analyzed, there were over 96,000 date references in the code, which were recognized and translated by the ConSyGen 2000 toolset.
Mr. Ron Bishop, ConSyGen's President and CEO, stated, ``After we had made a one-time extension of the toolset to handle HP3000, the conversion of 1.4 million lines was done quickly and smoothly, giving an effective demonstration of the ConSyGen 2000 toolset's powerful capability to both identify and to correct Year 2000 problems automatically. Based on these results, we believe that ConSyGen offers a proven means of materially reducing time, effort and cost in Year 2000 conversions for Hewlett-Packard, IBM, BULL and UNISYS mainframes and other mainframe environments, and is now poised to accelerate its range and volume of Year 2000 conversion projects.''
ConSyGen, Inc. is a Phoenix-based software company that provides conversion/correction services with its proprietary technologies. The company's ConSyGen 2000 software is a fully automated toolset that automatically corrects dates in both source code and data to be compliant for the Year 2000 and beyond. The company's ConSyGen Conversion toolset automatically converts software to run a different hardware platform. For example, software running on older BULL, IBM, UNISYS, etc. mainframes can automatically be converted to run on the new Client/server platforms (often called downsizing).
