My policy, to repeat, is containment. A policy the US has a great deal of experience with. A policy that historically has lead to some quite successful conclusions.
The combined US/Israel experience in shaking things up and occupying random places in the mideast is not that successful, historically, as far as I can see. There's always next time, though, right Nadine? With all the cultural sensitivy and diplomacy the local "War Now!" crowd shows toward the Arab world, I'm sure another occupation is sure to work out Real Good. Show'em who's boss, and they'll darn well learn to love us, right Nadine? Breed new terrorists? That could never, ever happen, could it, Nadine?
Maybe we could send Ann Coulter over as a good will ambassador, convert all the heathens to Christianity. That would likely work out about as well as all the other neocon schemes that get real slippery once you try to pin people down. |
