I was thinking that divergence would be in the hands of J6P. Anything he can't afford will be dropped from the rosters of mass production and will only be affordable/obtainable by the seriously rich.

Another way to look at this is that the ranks of the upper middle class are going to be decimated, and that the divide between the rich and poor is going to widen and deepen.
