The "fat slob" analyst Paul Sagawa, 39 of Sanford Bernstein, whom I have lampooned here was awarded the Institutional Investor's top telecom analyst for 2001. This he won by downgrading both NT and LU at $60 back in 2000. Congratulations on this award.

Now, what has he done lately? Well, he upgraded both NT ($1.72) and LU ($3.70) to buys (According to Smart Money magazine) and as we know, these moves have yielded returns of -45% and -57% as of 8/2/2002.

Perhaps, his "fat" head is not just "brains" afterall. Another "one hit wonder" in the making.
