Yet another high priest of technology scaring the pants off of congress and the public. Governments should stay out of this. This is nothing but a ploy for security software companies to lobby government so they can fleece the public. I have not needed any virus software at all. I have been an online user way before the Internet even started. I surfed bulletin boards way back in 1978. I have a network that has been online 24X7, (email server, web server, DNS server, ftp server...) for the last three years and have not had a single problem. Governments should levy fines on those who own computers that get infected. This will fix security problems very quickly and also help with deficits. They should also allow users to sue security software providers for all demonstrated security breaches. Lawrence
