It seems intuitively obvious that eating fast food is part of the problem of childhood obesity. I would hesitate, though, to adopt the tone of blame that the article has. People eat that stuff because it tastes good.

I remember when McD came out with this relatively healthy burger. I used to eat it. I thought it was good, but it didn't last long because most people shop by taste. As long as the restaurants try to provide a healthy choice or two and provide nutrition information, I can't fault them. They're just offering what the customers want, after all.

I was fussing on SMBR the other day about restaurants not providing sufficient information, which most of them don't, but I don't think we can blame them for selling what people want to buy. Maybe one day a health food restaurant chain will be successful...
