Really, you could very well be right. What you say makes a lot of sense with respect to outcome. You got that right, Bush lied to and betrayed the Kurds as surely as Bush Jr. will betray Afghanistan should push come to shove and troops are needed to mass at the Iraqi border. The AFghan govt is in no way stable and our withdrawal will only cause worse problems from those beleagured folks.

True they do need to define an enemy for the American people to buy,though other countries wish we'd simply back off.
