As France was defeated before the U.S. entered the war, very little military aid probably went to the French.

FDR was running the United States for 9 years before U.S. entry into WW2. Labor (and its leadership) was a major component of his support base.

If you look at history, you will find that fascist movements and socialist movements are populist movements after the same constituents...labor. The difference was that Communists were against all the "privilaged elite", while Nazis were against the "jewish elite".
