Ramsey - The MS Article is interesting, but still has a lot
of fairly extreme errors which make all of the data
suspect. The biggest of these is the expected CapEx for
upgrading AWE vs Sprint:

AWE Sprint
GSM/GPRS Overlay $2.75B 1x upgrade $0.8B
EDGE $0.45B 1x- rel A $0.0B
WCDMA Overlay $1.2B 1x-EV $0.8B

Even on the surface this is ridiculous - the overlay of W
CDMA is going to be less than going to GSM? And the
upgrade to EDGE, which is a standard not yet finalized so
the existing GSM equipment cannot possibly do it without
hardware upgrade, is less than the 1x upgrade? Both of
these are almost certainly very significant errors, but in
addition I strongly suspect that the GSM/GPRS upgrade cost
is a significant underestimate, especially for a TDMA
vendor such as AWE.
