Clark, how do you estimate wcdma: 1. no one has really show if it really works. 2. docomo has a kind of network with subs less than that of a trial. how much have they spent already and how much more to go? 3. the IPR issues are not settled. 4. the standards issues are not settled, so is wcdma really wcdma-japan, wcdma-isles of man, soon wcdma-hutchison UK/Italy? 5. even a non-tech person like myself can see that there are still a ton of major hurdles for wcdma, such as battery life, handset cost, roaming, cellsites required ..... all are major major major, not just a little fine tuning here and ther. In conclusion, I think it is silly to even try to estimate the cost of something that lacks form. Ramsey PS are you finally convinced that the european governments levied a tax on 3G and the carriers who paid this tax are doomed?
