The thing about the Dow .618 at 8000 is that it would be a higher low than the 7532 low and the 7946 (approximate) spike down after the low. That would be a higher low, possibly bullish in the minds of those looking for a silver lining. Actually, I think the SPX needs to get closer to the 803-813 level for a valid re-test of the lows. I'm not sure we'll get that.
