Regulation is always so interesting, especially when J6P gets involved. A guy has a house on 20 acres and wants to clear some trees. J6P chimes in and says, "Man, don't cut those trees, let's be green." City Council jumps in and says, well, we might just need to see a permit filed, etc. etc.

But J6P on his own quarter acre lot always wants to cut trees without even getting a permit. "It's my land," he says.

Buffet and Berkshire want to analyze the market and buy stocks as close in methodology to Gottfried or Kodiak as possible, given the difficulty of that task even without disclosure. Nope, GF and Brian want Buffet's moves disclosed. Why? Because he's "big," because he's rich. He should have to make all his bids and asks in perfect transparency, so everyone who never had an original thought can hop on board.

Doesn't make any sense, except from the point of view of "envy." Never had much use for regulation based on envy, that's always been the Democrats' (and the Bolsheviks' and the Chinese Central Committee's) position on these things.
