Are you seeing any suggestions on solving the problem of Iraq to go along with the "don't invade" articles/opinions? I have not. So....do we just continue preparing for a defense, and wait for an attack?
Well, for the moment, Bill pushed me to stake out a claim to the "containment" policy, whatever that is.
My own sense, if only momentary, is that not attacking is wiser than attacking. The list of reasons is rather long and, surprisingly, at least to me, gets longer the more I read. I had expected to read material which would make it much clearer (a) that Saddam has wmd, (b) that past uses are stronger than simply suggestions that he would use it again in his neighborhood, (c) that he has clear ties to Al Qaeda, and (d) would readily pass along his wmd to them. Instead, I find the opposite.
But it's early in the season so far as I can tell. Unless the Bushies really do think that going to war soon, say August to October, helps them and their Republican friends in November. |
