Gottfried,

Actually still holding CYMI and AMAT. Got rid of all the bottom fishers that I had collected (RFMD, VTSS, et al). Trading account 100% cash.

Investement clubs putting money into real estate?? This is an example of groupthink at work. Jumping off of one 80% deflated bubble to the top of another.

<<But you already did that. (buy a house) >>

KB went to great lengths last year to convince me to not buy a house for a few years. Park the cash and wait for the housing bubble to collapse. In the end, the wife won out and we bought a property in December. Currently, it stands as a good move - up in value about 15% off of the post-Sept11 trough.

Not saying it will not drop in value to some extent over the next few years, but I wonder about the alternative.
Currently we have a nice modern house in Alameda (well 13 yo.), that we are happily making all kinds of improvements to. Making it into our own image if you will.
If we didn't have this property, we would still be living in a 55yo rental in a lower-working class neighborhood, but sitting on a wad of cash. I wonder if I would have had the discipline to hold onto that cash and not jump on all the tech "opportunities" when the market techical signals presented themselves as buys back in early July.
