PM,

Just had two computers die on me today and am looking for a hard drive backup system that is not physically connected to the computer i.e., not a second hard drive on the same computer.

Computer #1: Windows 2000. Computer starts up and goes almost through its initialization but freezes just before the icons appear on the desktop.

Computer #2: Windows 98SE. I was installing Norton SystemWorks when I suddenly smelled something burning. A quick pulling out of the power cord and then a restart gave me a "disk boot failure." I do have drive image installed on this computer but don't know how to access it on the d: drive now.

Is there a portable hard drive that's on the market which will allow me to back up my ENTIRE hard drive just in case I have the above mentioned problems? Maybe a backup system with tapes that I can then store or just a large backup system where I can backup several computers on the same drive. I'm looking for a device that I can plug into the back of the computer on a monthly basis for those critical backups.

Thanks!

Sue
