The intelligence report said that Saddam was training the Palestinians in Iraq, not on the West Bank. The Israelis are finding lots of stuff on the West Bank. Did you hear about the 300 kilos of high explosive that they found in the Palestinian Legislative Building? I thought that was cute. But I doubt the Pals have got the wherewithall to run a biolab.

But let's use some simple extrapolation here. We know the Palestinians are not rational, or they wouldn't have started this intifada. They have tried several mega-attacks already. They are lacing the suicide-bombs with poison. They dance in the streets when the kill ten Israelis; imagine if they killed a thousand. They want a bio-weapon and would use it if they had it.

So the real question is, would Saddam give it to them? It would probably be traced to him. It would be very risky, but would earn him great kudos in the Arab world. If he thought he were going to be attacked anyway, he might risk it, I think, and rally the Arab world around him. I certainly believe that he would have the option prepared and ready. If he was sure he was going to be attacked, he would launch chemical warheads at Tel Aviv himself.
