What's very interesting is you have ignored the counter argument that I have presented in the past; that the press is mainstream, not exclusively liberal as you suggest. And that argument is supported by the simple fact that only by being main stream can the press garner the attention of a large portion of the viewing/listening public, and sell their advertising spots.
Whoa! Wait a minute. YOU presented an argument that the press is mainstream? I missed it. I've seen you SAY it before, but if you have an actual ARGUMENT, how about a link, with a little support? You could put me (and the rest of the foolish conservatives) in our places by citing a couple of authoritative studies indicating there is NOT a liberal bias.
I don't mind losing an argument, but I'd like to do it on the facts and not on the strength of someone's opinion alone. By the way, you can also get rid of me by just admitting that you aren't interested in truth, but rather, just in support of the liberal dogma. If this is the case, say so, and I'll back off. I respect your right to biased beliefs; I just can't stand to see people get sucked in thinking propaganda is bias-free.
Here's a quote from one scientific study:
=============================
The 1981 Lichter-Rothman study surveyed political attitudes and voting patterns of 240 journalists working for such major media as The New York Times, the Washington Post, US News and World Report, the Wall Street Journal and all the networks. Key findings included:
* 90 percent favored abortion. * 80 percent supported affirmative action. * 81 percent voted Democratic in every election from 1964-72. * Most blamed the U.S. for Third World poverty.
An excerpt from that study says journalists emerge "as strong supporters of environmental protection, affirmative action, women's rights, homosexual rights, and sexual freedom in general.
