I read the Saudi Arabian situation as very, very complicated right now. The best rendering of it I've read is in the latest issue of Foreign Affairs. I recommend it.

I don't think US foreign policy should attempt to create a clash of civilizations. That's, best I can tell, what Al Qaeda hopes we will do.
