Yes, that's an interesting case.

I have more than once remarked on the basic inequity of the woman having the absolute right to decide whether a child is born or not, whether or not to accept the financial burden of raising a child. I believe there needs to be some mechanism for a father, early enough in the pregnancy for a safe abortion to take place, to have the right to abdicate all his parental rights and obligations. The mother can then decide whether to carry the child to term or not, knowing that she will be responsible for its support. As it stands now, a man and woman can have intercourse, even using protection, and if the woman becomes pregnant she can decide whether to take on the responsibility for a child or not, but the man has no such right. If she decides to carry the child, he is on the hook for eighteen years (or more) of financial support, which has ruined more than one young man's life.

Seems to me to violate the whole principle of equal rights and equal responsibilities.
