I understand that. I do the same. But you must understand that when you insist that your gut is correct, contrary to the assertions of an individual about himself or herself, you are calling that person a liar or deluded, as I said the other day. It seems to me one has to be pretty sure of himself and pretty unconcerned about consequences to do that. Thinking it is one thing, but challenging a person about it is another.

For example, a number of people have criticized you for posting virtually nothing of substance. You repeatedly say it's not so. Now, I know what I see before my eyes and assess things accordingly. But I don't challenge you over the disconnect because, in polite society, we accept such assertions from people, even though we may do so with a wink or an eye roll. To do otherwise is to assail someone's integrity.
