| I know, Hawkmoon, that Saddam is monstrous, a Stalinlike murderous thug. I believe he's mean and evil. As you yourself admit,however, Forrest Gump is a movie and fg is but a fictional character, so I'm not certain your point. OT However, speaking of sheer determination of a real life person, Vin Diesel, whose movie XXX comes out this week spoke of personal focus leading to success on Jay Leno the other night. He said he took some money put it into a small film he wrote directed and starred in, brought it to Cannes, to no avail. Undaunted, he worked hard for a year saving his money and with a friend, produced another small film which got him noticed, and as we see now, in a big way. He's become a superstar "overnight", and he's so modest about it. I'm looking forward to seeing that movie and the vicarious thrills I'll get from watching those incredible stunts. |
