There is a maxim about technology that I find very useful, "We overestimate the impact of a new technology in the short and underestimate it's impact in the long term."

If all there was to blogs was personal editorials then I would agree it is limited. However, as a knowledge distribution tool, I have seen nothing like it.

You have to see past the early adapters idiosyncracies to see the real impact of blogs.
