I can't disagree with the comment about Martha--I'd like to see a "Million Housewife March" on DC with protest signs "Free Martha Stewart."

As for the hedge funds and speculators being responsible for all that is bad, to me all they're doing is taking what the market will give them. Right now it's a scared, frightened market with volatilities undreamed of. Look at CREE's trading range in the last month: from the 10s to th 16s??

Bill Gross (Pimco) complained about the hedge funds playing games with "good" company's ratings. But the reality is, the definition of "good" company changes with the breeze, or more accurately with the overall gestalt, condition of the markets. Right now, everyone is suspect, so there are fewer and fewer places to hide.
