That is not at all what the court said. It said that the recount provisions mandated by the Florida Supreme Court were too vague, and therefore were inequitable, and it also said that the defect could not be cured in time to meet the safe harbor date, which the legislature intended to do. Therefore, since the legislature has the absolute constitutional right to set the terms of selection for electors within its state, the safe harbor date must act as the end of the contest, and since it could not be met, the contest was over, in effect.....
