Brian,

Keep those good posts coming!<gg>

<<Applied Materials ranked No. 1 in a number of categories. Salomon expects the semiconductor equipment maker's revenue to climb 63% in 2003 from its 2002 estimates, while earnings per share is seen jumping 346% from its 2002 EPS estimate of 19 cents a share. Salomon has a price target of $38 on the stock over the next 18 to 24 months, saying that the company is the industry bellwether and is in the best position to capitalize on the expected recovery in the industry. Salomon said the stock may double beyond its $38 price target. The stock traded recently at $13.50.>>

<<Goldman Sachs

AMAT: Reit Trading Buy - Applied Materials reports their FQ3 results next Tuesday Aug 13th. We expect the July quarter to be in-line with previous guidance. Expect order guidance to be down 10-15% seq.($1.6b to 1.7b) with orders declining to $1.25 billion over the next several quarters as industry digests capacity and technology added over last several months. Recommending aggressive stance on the stocks as we believe longer-term risk/reward and potential seasonality supports weight/overweight positions even assuming a muted semi-cycle through 2005.>>

Just a little bit of difference in outlook!!
