PB,
Thanks for your insights into the world of biotechs. I live near the NIH, and have lots of friends in the medical research arena, but most of them are not investors.
Medimmune is a local firm, and got interested in it a couple of years ago. I bought in after the failed tests, but I'm not in as much as I should be (hindsight). Lots of local firms have sone well such as Life Technologies, Guilford, North American Vaccine, Human Genome, and a few have died, like Alpha 1.
The founder of Magainin was a neighbor and friend of ours. I've been investing in Magainin over the past 4 years, and I guess that the make or break time is coming this year.
You're right about the frogs and sharks. Zaslof discovered peptides in the skin of the African bullfrog that act as antibiotics, and has more recently found extra strength magainins in the shark. I hope that he cures the world (and along the way, cures my financial situation).
Good Luck and keep in touch!
