The entire effect of the soft money ban is to stifle speech in a tawdry effort to create a monopoly on public communication for incumbents. A nation of 280 million with a government that ignores its constitutional restrictions is composed of thousands of groups of common interest, which must, under the First Amendment, be allowed unrestricted free speech. CFR outlaws that, because its sponsors don't happen to like who the winners are. McCain and his henchmen should be stood against a wall for this assault on liberty..
