moreover, I didn't say "not listened to by anybody anymore," but rather, "not taken very seriously by the mainstream." By that criteria, a whole swathe of the current administration would qualify as well.

Falk, for example, strikes me as at one end of the spectrum regarding the importance and validity of international law, with someone like John Bolton--currently the assistant secretary of state for the topic--at the other end. The large majority of foreign policy and national security professionals would be in the middle, and would consider both to be overly zealous and narrow in their views.

Just because the right-wing zealots happen to be in power at the moment doesn't mean they are necessarily more correct, or deserve more respect, than their opposite numbers.
