Re: Today's Best Buy earnings shortfall announcement

I'd never thought I'd say this, but I have had a tendency to shop at Circuit City rather than Best Buy lately. This after I had swore, in the past, never to shop at Circuit City. I begged Best Buy to come to my town. They eventually did and I was in heaven.

Personally, I have found Circuit City's recent promotions to be of better value. Granted, it may have an adverse effect their own bottom line, but I bet CC's revenue increase numbers will be better relative to BB's.

Best Buy's weekly Sunday ads don't seem to have the few deep cut, draw in the customer, deals that they used to have. They just don't suck me in the door anymore - I used to go there weekly. Now some of their big DVD release promotions just state "low price" in the ad. I'm not going to waste my time driving over there to find out the "low price". Circuit City has better prices on the more popular CDs also - in their top 40 rack - $11.99.

IMO, it's not the economy, it's their "lack of the draw".
