To buck out Billy G I'll give it a rating of 6. Not enough ?'s on DVD! The Vcd discussion was certainly more positive -- no discussion as to the # of units this qtr. ,only a unit /year comment. Got the feeling that cube is getting an upper hand in this Vcd market battle! I liked the answer given regarding software competition-- > than 7 watts consumtion for the software would really challenge the notebook designer! As DAVID said Divicom is coming on strong internationally! Also nice to hear that the Americast deal includes the Cube chips etc. The crossover from the Cl484 to the Cl680 is very near and the ever so lightly put down of "our friendly competition 's" new two chip solution ( he didn't mention it but I think this the ESST 3210) as compared to the single chip CL680. Responding to a ? AB said that this lower pricing situation is"here to stay". I don't know what that means. I'm hopeing that Esst sees the hand writing on the wall and leaves!! Fat chance of that happening. The TMSC elimination of the $24mln. was answered by Fred--die shrinkage produced lower costs and higher yields ...One question I have for David or Fred or anyone that listened -- when that analyst "Singh" from Utterbach(?) responded to Alex's explaination on the TMSC deal . Singh ask AB how long will this(current) adequate capacity last?Ab said "several years and Singh said "WOW". Was that a good WOW or a bad WOW? I'll rate it a"6" . Asomber Vintho
