Brian, [added text] this chart backs you bigcharts.marketwatch.com It shows 'rolling EPS', i.e. EPS for the last 4 quarters. The site also lets you chart PE, but the scale is such that it's of little use. [added] Compare today's price and EPS with '99 - almost the same. G.
