Yes, the fact is that the American public is getting taxed to death. Those that aren't wealthy enough to have a truly diversified portfolio of individual stocks have to resort to mutual funds to get diversified. That means again they are getting double taxed. What really bothers me is that everyone has come out against Bush's tax cut, saying America couldn't afford it. Well, anyone with a bit of economics knowledge knows that cutting taxes stimulates the economy. So America couldn't NOT afford it.
I bet if someone in our government game me a free hand to pour over the gov't records and processes (not to mention those of the IRS), I could find enough waste and inefficiencies to help offset a lot of that tax cut. Then if you gave me a free hand to cut the pork from our budget, I'd get us back to a surplus, even with the reduction in tax revenues due to the recession. Sorry corporate farmers, steel workers, monument erectors, I'd make sure you didn't get a penny.
So when I hear Daschle and his moronic friends say the tax cut was a bad idea, it just makes me livid. What? Does he want to tax us into bankruptcy? Or when I hear those Democrat morons say that social security shouldn't be privatized, the first thing I think about is that if Daschle and his cronies are so happy with social security, why don't they pass a law retracting congressional retirement pensions, and making available to them the standard social security deal that the rest of us Americans are stuck with? I'm sick of the hypocracy and idiocy that goes on daily in our gov't.
My wife and I are so sick of the whole deal, we've been looking for properties in foreign countries where we can retire in 9 years. Our idea is to just take the money we've sweat for over the last couple decades and run with it to some place where they won't nickle and dime us to death. America is a great place to make money, but it sure isn't a great place keep it. |
