So what we have here is a Brazilian agreeing with an Icelander that the US is.....(fill in doomsday wishful thinking of choice here).

Baldur is a stopped clock. He lost his shirt in a Toronto-based OTC scam run by a woman who is now using his money to launch a career as an artist. This scam was shut down by the SEC, hence causing him to lose his "investment" a few months sooner than he would have otherwise. For this he blames the SEC and US government and US financial institutions. And in your mind this makes Baldur some kind of prophet?

Baldur is a stopped clock. He clearly has a screw (or several) loose. And you can bet that the Icelandic government is underwriting (indirectly of course) his 24/7 online "the end is near" sandwich board operation.

>>the sorry state of the US economy<< that you refer to is this: less than 6.0% unemployment; growing per capita income; high productivity; unprecedented job creation (currently offset by lots of job losses); currently recovering from a severe recession in a normal, predictable fashion; recently swallowed the biggest financial asset bubble in history with little more than a polite belch.

>>Want a proof?<< Proof of what? That WorldCom and a few other prominent US companies were run by criminals? OK. We have proof of that. We also have pictures of a few of them in handcuffs. Of course, that didn't impress you much, elmat, because in Brazil the government and police routinely root out business corruption and jail the bad apples, right? (hint - sarcasm).

>>Baldur is the man<< Whatever floats your boat, I guess.
