Jim, if the Fed does drastically increase liquidity and the government runs up huge deficits we may be able to delay a recession but the end result will be a disastrous depression that could make the 1930s look minor.
I think Slider talked about the Bush adminsitration and Greenspan doing everything they can to pump things up through 2004, that way Greenspan can retire and Bush can get re-elected. Then we have hell to pay.
