"Religions tend to be intolerant of other religions (hence the establishment clause in the 2nd Amendment) and particularly of nonbelievers (hence the freedom of religion clause)."

Common myth. At the foundations of each of the major religions you find that the doctrine of each establishes religious tolerance as a requirement on believers. Religious people are no different than non-religious people. They can be quite intolerant in spite of scriptural commandments, as can the established institutions standing in authority over the community members. Thus it became necessary to establish the clause in the 2nd Amendment "hey, government! leave them kids alone". Oh, wait that's Pink Floyd. Well, you know what I mean. "Live and let live." No...just a minute that's 007. Hmmm...well it had something to do with the government making laws that would interfere with me worshipping according to my faith. Right?
