Say, Emile, is it true that the Old Testament is a woman-hating book?

There is a theory that the woman-hatred in the Old Testament was a reaction to the religion that was overthrown by the Hebrews. This religion worshipped a female god, and the misogeny in the Old Testament was perhaps a reaction (over-reaction?) to that.
