If the thin client business is so promising, why did IBM and the other companies get out? This is the last hurrah of the mainframe, dumb terminal architecture. Of course, MSFT is always working toward enfranchising themselves (mainframe, server, network control) and disenfranchising their customers. I believe the only threats to AMAT and technology progress in general are the the efforts of the law breaking monopolist.
