What percentage of USD extant is physical in the form of printed bills? ... any figures on that anywhere, i don't know where to look .... presumably, the great majority exists as nothing more than digital entries in electronic accounts, the greenpeacers would wreak havoc in the streets if forests were felled sufficent to print it all on paper ... it's just electrons mostly, wiggling back and forth in their engineered habitat .... eh

Paper bills don't endure through many transactions in their lifetime ... there are statistics on this ... coins are much cheaper on a per-transaction cost basis ... i figure canadians should stop using pennies and nickels, consider vaulting ahead and not using the dime even, and start minting a ten-loonie coin
